Haven’t posted lately — still down with the flu.\u00a0 The cough has gone from the polite heh heh sound to a racking deep thing that takes on a life of its own.\u00a0 I swear any minute I expect to either cough up my lung, my toes, or some dwarf or balrog.\u00a0 I’ve pulled muscles coughing and still I cough.\u00a0 I think there’s a design flaw in this cough to rid the lungs of crap idea.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in my befuddled state of illness, I came across this lovely book ad for Maurice Gee’s Going West.\u00a0 Put out by the New Zealand Book Council, it has the tagline, “where books come to life.”\u00a0\u00a0 I can’t follow all the words but the experience of watching the short video is one that puts you (or me anyway) on sensory overload.<\/p>\n
It’s gorgeous to watch.\u00a0 Don’t believe it’s convinced me to try the book but I’ve watched this short film a few times.\u00a0 Maybe books about train journeys and the inner landscape of the narrator just don’t do it for me when I’m coughing up my lungs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
